About The Painting.
Wave Crashing Over Rock, has taken many hours to complete. Inspired by the Taranaki coastline and the connections between land and sea. As an artist, learning, growing, refining my style is a journey of creating artwork that can be celebrated by others. Developing techniques and learning off other artists to explore my own character, forming a collection of color variations, unique compositions and brush strokes that are authentically me.
This artwork is about the power of nature, about life and momentum. The crash, the ebbs and flows, the ripples and the calm.
The immovable object of the rock being washed over, steadfast in its foundations, the wave is almost dancing and coercing the form to move. The sun sets as the stormy clouds sweep over the dusky sky, the rock far from land and seems alone is actually inhabited with the abundance of life around it. Even in the night sky the waves will crash and the rock will not yield, though both will almost submit to the harmony in each other's natural harmonic vibration.
